ThermiSmooth Skin Refinement
Temperature controlled handpiece and radiofrequency energy is used for performing ThermiSmooth. Your provider will use small, circular motions for gently rolling the handpiece on the surface of the skin. This will heat the targeted tissues beneath the skin. Patients often compare the sensation to getting a warm massage.
Board certified plastic surgeons at the Aesthetic Center for Plastic Surgery (ACPS) provide safe and proven non-surgical med spa services, including ThermiSmooth skin refinement procedure to patients in Houston, Texas, TX, and surrounding locations.
How Does ThermiSmooth Work?
ThermiSmooth is an effective skin refinement technique that generates the production of new and fresh collagen. Collagen production slows down as you age which results in fine lines, wrinkles and sagging skin. Hence, the production of collagen helps in tightening the skin for a younger and smoother appearance.
ThermiSmooth RF system during the in-office procedure will be set to a specific temperature depending on your cosmetic goals. ThermiSmooth handpiece will be applied to your skin and gently moved in a circular or sweeping fashion. This will gradually heat up the skin. The Thermi RF computer will automatically adjust the energy output as the temperature rises for ensuring precise heating.
It takes about 5 to 15 minutes for heating a small zone and achieving sustained heating of target tissues. According to clinical studies, collagen in the skin shrinks when it is heated in excess of 104°. Correlating with this, when the skin is heated to this temperature, the skin engages an inflammatory process that stimulates the generation of new skin cells for producing new collagen.
