Anesthesia
Eyelid lift plastic surgery procedure is usually performed with the patient under local anesthesia and light sedation. The sedation will help keep them comfortably asleep during the procedure. If eyelid surgery is combined with another procedure or the patient’s anxiety levels are high, the surgeon may recommend general anesthesia.
A qualified anesthesiologist or a registered anesthetist nurse will perform general anesthesia. They will remain present throughout in the operating room to monitor the patient’s response to anesthesia. Lower Blepharoplasty

Transconjunctival Blepharoplasty
If the eyelid skin does not have laxity, but the patient has excess fat deposits around the eyelids, the surgeon may recommend transconjunctival blepharoplasty. This is a less invasive procedure, ideally suited in cases where the under eye bags are less conspicuous.
After anesthesia, several small incisions will be placed inside the lower eyelid. The surgeon will remove excess fat deposits through the incisions. Skin removal and tightening of muscles is not involved. No external scarring will occur because the incisions are placed within the eyelid.
