Dr. Christopher Patronella

As one of the world’s foremost leaders in tummy tuck, body contouring, and corrective breast surgery, Dr. Patronella’s reputation for creating masterful, artistically-detailed aesthetic plastic surgery results and his uncompromising focus on patient safety have made him the cosmetic plastic surgeon of choice for thousands of physicians, nurses, their family members, and individuals who travel from around the globe to his practice.

Goldline Research Studies in Forbes magazine named Dr. Patronella one of the leading plastic surgery providers in the United States and one of the 10 most dependable plastic surgeons of the Western United States. Every year since 2004, Houston-area physicians and citizens have voted for Dr. Patronella as one of the top plastic surgeons in Houston, leading him to receive numerous H Texas Magazine “Top Doc” awards. As a Doctors Choice Award winner for 8 consecutive years and a Houstonia Magazine Top Doctor, Dr. Patronella is consistently cited by Houston-area physicians as one of the top cosmetic plastic surgeons and breast specialists to whom they would send their family and friends. Reflecting the high esteem in which he is held among his peers, Dr. Patronella’s colleagues elected him to serve as president of the  Houston Society of Plastic Surgeons from 2012-2013.

While Dr. Patronella is widely recognized as one of the nation’s top plastic surgeons for his surgical precision and artistic expertise, he’s also highly regarded for his groundbreaking safety strategies. His landmark article analyzing risk factors for deep vein thrombosis (blood clots) in tummy tuck and body contouring procedures received the prestigious “Best Published Aesthetic Surgery Article of 2008” award from the Aesthetic Surgery Journal, one of the most respected publications in aesthetic plastic surgery and the official publication of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS).  The  impactful research and recommendations in this article continue to influence best practices to optimize the safety of  plastic surgery patients throughout the world. In addition, Dr. Patronella developed a technique which greatly reduced complications associated with combined breast augmentation and breast lift surgery (mastopexy). He was invited to write a chapter describing this method  for the publication Seminars in Plastic Surgery. The chapter, “The Delay Fill Technique: A Safer Approach to Combination Augmentation Mastopexy” details techniques to achieve a successful outcome for this traditionally challenging procedure.

Dr. Patronella is internationally acclaimed for the True Form Tummy Tuck® method he developed over 10 years to perfect the results of tummy tuck surgery using a combination of advanced techniques to create beautifully elegant, authentic-looking results. In 2015, Dr. Patronella’s True Form Tummy Tuck approach was selected as the acclaimed “Featured Operative Technique” for the Aesthetic Surgery Journal. The article, “Redefining Abdominoplasty” and its accompanying video detailed the 10 key elements of Dr. Patronella’s method, including:

  • subtle contour variations
  • consistent skin tone throughout all regions of the abdomen and adjacent areas
  • a deeply contoured navel
  • sensual beauty and elegance

Dr. Patronella has received numerous invitations to present his tummy tuck and navel contouring methods at plastic surgery conferences around the world, including  the 2015 American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery conferencein Montreal and at the 2015 Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons’ meeting.  Because of his expertise in these areas, he was asked to be the moderator for a panel of plastic surgeons discussing the topic of tummy tuck surgery at the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons 2015 meeting. In addition, as an assistant clinical professor of plastic surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston (UTMB), Dr. Patronella has been invited to present his advanced tummy tuck techniques to medical residents training to be plastic surgeons and surgical faculty throughout Texas on numerous occasions.

Patient Coordinator

As Dr. Patronella’s patient coordinator for almost 20 years, I have been privileged to gain invaluable experience and information from working with one of the nation’s best doctors in plastic surgery. I want patients to know that when they walk through our door, they will be in the best of hands before, during, and after their surgery.
While Dr. Patronella’s artistic talent and surgical skill are essential to the excellent aesthetic results he consistently achieves, his patients equally appreciate his honesty, integrity, and wonderful bedside manner.

My goal as Dr. Patronella’s patient coordinator is to help patients feel comfortable and at ease during their consultation and to provide them with assistance and guidance for all of their needs at every step of the surgical experience.
As a mother of four children, I understand the demands of balancing family and work commitments while also taking time to pursue the activities and goals that bring personal fulfillment. One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is seeing the satisfaction on my patients’ faces when their dreams became a reality and hearing the positive impact this so often has on other areas of their lives such as their relationships and self-image.

I invite you to email or call our friendly patient care team at 713-799-9999 to schedule your appointment with Dr. Patronella. We look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your appearance goals, providing you with a wonderfully rewarding experience through every stage of the surgery experience and beyond!

True Form Plastic Surgery®

For centuries, artists have sought to capture the simple, yet unsurpassed beauty of the human body in sculpture, painting, and photography. In the early years of my work as a plastic surgeon, the feedback of patients mirrored my own sense that standard plastic surgery textbook methods often yielded artificial-looking results because they failed to restore the natural physical nuances which contribute to the body’s overall beauty.

By studying photos of the ideal body in order to analyze the myriad of attractive details that characterize it, I incorporated steps to replicate these features in my patients’ surgical procedures. My True Form Plastic Surgery™ breast, body contouring, and facial rejuvenation procedures represents the culmination of my efforts and the combination of techniques I’ve refined through 25 years of experience. My goal is to create results which appear so natural that no one could detect you had surgery and to minimize the appearance of postsurgical scars through strategic incision placement and a scar treatment program.

It is important to me that my patients feel comfortable from the moment they walk into my practice until they are discharged from surgery. I am extremely proud of my incredible staff, most of whom have been with me an average of 10 years or more. Compassionate, accommodating, and down-to earth, they consistently provide my patients with unsurpassed continuity of care and the added degree of comfort and reassurance that comes from seeing friendly, familiar faces.

Together, we have witnessed the life-changing impact that plastic surgery has upon so many of our patients’ lives both physically and psychologically. My experience has taught me that when a person has a positive self-image, she/he is more engaged in the spectrum of daily activities related to work, parenting, and relationships. Because of the physical transformation they receive, my patients find more joy in putting on a swimsuit and going to the pool, they feel more confident about how they look in and out of clothes, and their relationships are often improved, particularly their intimate relationships because they feel proud, whole, and less inhibited.

My staff and I consider it an honor and privilege to partner with women and men to help them attain their aesthetic dreams and the boost in self-confidence, attractiveness, and relationship satisfaction that inspires them to reach for their dreams and live life to the fullest.
