During liposuction, you will be placed under general anesthesia. Your surgeon will make small incisions of about ¼ inches in inconspicuous areas of the body and connect a thin, hollow tube called a cannula to a suction machine. Your surgeon manipulates the cannula to remove fat and sculpt a more desirable shape.
The length of the procedure varies depending on the desired level of contouring. Most liposuction procedures take 1 to 2 hours, while full body contouring may require 3+ hours.

This technique works by injecting controlled amounts of a special fluid under the skin. The fluid causes the fat to swell for easier, safer removal, resulting in minimal bruising. After injecting the fluid, your surgeon gently moves a cannula back and forth to create thousands of tiny tunnels where the fat has been removed. After surgery, the tiny tunnels gradually collapse under the pressure of a compression garment. The tissue continues to contract within the tunnel, creating a slimmer appearance.
Ultrasonic-assisted liposuction (UAL) is an advanced technique often paired with tumescent liposuction. UAL uses ultrasonic energy to liquefy fat cells, making them easier to remove with less tissue trauma. This approach minimizes blood loss, reduces bruising, and promotes better skin retraction.
